  “How’s work going?” Keller asks.

“Good, helping out the Angels Warriors with a bust next weekend,” I say. “How’s the pre-season for the kids so far?” He’s been out of town for a few weeks, travelling around with his team, working with junior hockey league, something their team does every year before pre-season starts.

“Good, we’re hoping to get the cup this year,” he tells me. Keller has been playing hockey since he was a kid, ended up getting drafted to the NHL two years into being in College, finishing out his schooling online.

A waitress comes over to take my order and comes back quickly with my drink. Downing it, I search out the club, looking for a sure thing. I spot her, tall, confident, blonde—perfect combination.

“Fuck, man, this bitch is soaked, you wanna play?” he asks.

I shoot him a look of disgust and shake my head.

“Your loss, man. Babe, you got a friend you want to join us? In the mood for more than just your pussy.” Instead of getting pissed, like any normal woman would, she looks up and nods her head. Why am I friends with this douchebag again? Fuck.

I stand up, done with being around him. “Later, man, I'm gonna go get laid,” I tell Keller and head down to the woman who will be in my bed tonight. She’s different than what I usually take home, ever since I had Tara, I always take women home that look like her. A few times I even said her name when I came, which of course pissed them off. This one though, doesn’t look a thing like her, so there will be no mistaking a name.

I saunter up to her and she gives me a smirk. “Hey handsome, you wanna get out of here?”

I grab her around the waist. “Damn right I do.” My cock hardens in my jeans, and I grind it against her as she lets out a breathy moan.

“No names,” she whispers in my ear. Fuck yeah, perfect. I pull away from her, keeping a grip on her arm and pull her with me out the doors of the club.

“You drive here?” I ask her, so we don’t just abandon her car.

  “Nope, took a cab.”

Going to the passenger side of my truck I open the door, letting her in. I go to shut the door and she winks at me, adjusting her top slightly, giving me a sample of her nipples. Fuck me, good thing I don’t live far from here.

Once I’m in the driver’s seat, she leans over and starts rubbing my cock through my pants. When was the last time I was laid? “Pull it out and suck it. I want to finish in your mouth before we get to my place, you have ten minutes.”

She jumps into action, doing exactly what I demanded of her, and fuck, her mouth is perfect. She cups my balls with one hand, while jerking my dick with the other, her mouth stays at the head as she sucks. “Fuck yeah, almost there,” I groan as my balls tighten. She moans against the head of my cock, sending me over the edge, filling her mouth.

“Mhmm, you taste good,” she exclaims, lifting her head off my lap.

“Two more minutes, then I’ll return the favor.”

She moans as she sits back in her seat and lifts up her dress, no fucking panties. My dick twitches at the sight. She moves her hands, sticking a finger inside herself. “I’m so wet already.” She pulls it out and sucks herself off.

I slam on the brakes as I hit my driveway. Both of us rushing out of the truck and into my house. This is exactly what I need tonight, to get my mind off a woman I can’t have.

  Chapter 3

  Tara

I’m woken up to someone knocking at my door. I roll over to check the time and realize I slept in. Usually on my days off I’m still up early no matter what I try to do, meditation, medications, or even the basic sleeping pill, nothing works. Grumbling, I get out of bed and head to my front door.

Peeking through the peephole, I see Keller standing there waiting. Smiling, I open the door. “Hey, what are you doing here?” I ask.

He steps into me, kissing me quickly, while giving my ass a pinch. “Just knew it was your day off, wanted to see if you wanted to spend the day together.” He’s wearing ripped jeans and a black tee shirt, his usual dress code, I swear he has no other clothing options, it’s always the same exact outfit. Except when he goes to award things, then he just wears the standard suit. “Damn, no bra, you wanna get right into it huh?” he flicks my nipple, which hurts, and I give him a glare and shove him slightly, rolling my eyes.

I smile but then it drops when I remember what I needed to do today. “Actually, I need to look for another apartment. The building is being sold; everyone has to be out by the end of the month,” I tell him glumly.

A huge smile breaks out over his face. “Good.”

I narrow my eyes at him. “How is that good?”

“Because now you can stop making up excuses and just move in with me,” he declares, as if it’s common sense.

I shake my head. “Keller, we’ve only been dating for six months, I’m not moving in with you.”

His smile drops. “Why the hell not? Seriously, big damn deal if it’s only been a few months.”

Sighing, I grab his hand. “It’s just too soon, Keller. I’m not ready for that with you yet.”

He clenches his jaw and steps back. “Fine whatever.” He looks away from me, but then glances back with a small smile. “What’s your budget?”

“I can’t pay more than a thousand a month and it has to include everything.”

“I’m not saying move in with me, but if you did, you’d have your own room. You know I live with Drew, and he has two more rooms available,” he tells me, raising his brows.

I groan. “Are you serious? That guy can’t even stand me.” And vice versa. He’s the biggest douchebag player on the planet.

All sexy and cocky, thinking he can get anything he wants. Before I started dating Keller, Drew was the very first man I ever had a one-night stand with, well first man ever if you want to get technical. The next day I walked into the police station to start my new job and boom, there he was, working at the same damn police station as me—and the kicker, he was my boss. Fucking bossy asshole. I wish I didn’t still have a slight crush on the moron. Thankfully, Keller doesn’t know about our brief sexcapade because if he did, I doubt that conversation would end well. Keller has been extremely possessive over me when it comes to other men.

“I trust him, he wouldn’t do anything with you because you’re mine, and you’d be living in a safer area.”

I rub my temples. “Fine, go ask him, but if he says no, I won’t be disappointed.” What’s it going to hurt, I know he won’t say yes, but if it gets Keller off my back, then whatever.

“Okay, I’ll come back later today to let you know,” he says, bringing his lips to mine for a kiss. The minute he leaves, I pull my phone out to call Tina.

“Morning, my beautiful bitch,” she answers cheerfully.

  Smiling, I say, “You’re a nut.”

“Damn right I am, no shame.” What a dork. “So, what’s up, we still on for a girl’s night tonight?”

Sighing, I walk to my ugly stained brown couch and plop down on it. “I would love to, but I have to start looking for places to stay.” I let her know about my notice and what’s going on with the building and she groans.

“If I didn’t have a studio, you know I’d have you move in with me, but I can help you look, girl, you know I’m down to help however I can.” This is why I love Tina, she’s always there for me when I need someone to lean on.

“I will take you up on that for sure, that is if Keller doesn’t get his way.” She goes quiet at me mentioning him. She’s never really liked Keller, but she also knows my feelings toward him as well, so she doesn’t say anything.

“What would Keller’s way be?” she asks, her voice edging into the danger zone.

Groaning, I slide further down my couch, and throw an arm over my eyes. “You know how he’s been wanting us to move in together? Well, he’s decided he has found a loophole. I move in with him and Drew, but have my own room, so like a roommate situation instead of actual moving in.” I chuckle.

“Girl, you need to wake up and smell the coffee.” She always says that to me, since she knows I hate the smell. “He’s a hockey player, emphasis on the player. You also don’t even like the guy, and no, shut up,” she snaps as if I’m going to interrupt her. “I know you’re keeping him around just for sex, companionship, whatever, but girl. There are way better guys. At the same time, I think you should go for it. Maybe you and Drew will have another go.”

Oh god, she just had to bring that up again. She was so proud of me when she learned I finally lost my virginity. I never even told her about working with Drew until I started dating Keller, and literally a month later, she was telling me I should dump Keller and go for Drew. To be honest, ever since I introduced her to Keller, she’s been odd around him, half the time she makes an excuse to not hang out with us.

“Look, no, Drew and I, don’t get along, so get that out of your head, and I doubt I’ll take Keller up on the offer, even if he does convince Drew. And second…” My stomach starts to growl so I change my train of thought. “I’m starving, so I need to go get something to eat.”

Her laugh booms over the phone, “Girl, I know how you get when you’re hangry. Go eat, call me later and we’ll figure out a girl’s night. Love ya, bitch.” She clicks off before I can reply, and I just shake my head.

I toss my phone to the end of the couch and get up to search for food. I really hope Drew says no.

  Chapter 4

  Drew

Okay, how the fuck do I get this bitch to leave? We’ve been awake for almost an hour now, she should have been gone first thing, but it seems like I snagged myself a stage nine clinger. Just great. If Keller didn't give his condo to his baby mama, I would have taken this chick there, like I used to, but the place is off limits now. Hell, it’s also the place I took Tara when I had her.

“Look, is that ride coming anytime soon, really need you outta here,” I say, starting losing my cool.

She shoots me a dirty look. “Don’t know why you’re being a dick about this. I said she’d be here soon, okay, wanna double check my phone?” she practically shouts, throwing attitude at me.

I narrow my eyes at her. “What’s your name?” I ask, realizing I didn’t get it last night.

“Fuck me, really? I thought we decided no names?”

“Yeah, we did, but I wanna know now.” Before she can answer me her phone rings.

“Finally, you whore. Blake finally let you come up for air?” she says, laughing. “Will you be here soon? Because really, this guy is looking at me all weird and shit, and I wanna get gone,” she tells her friend. “Seriously, what the hell? Fine whatever, what’s another half hour. God, can this get any worse? Cori, this is why I bring men to my place, because it’s just easier. Ugh.” That shocks me, she must do this often, at least I know she’s not a clinger now. “Yes, I know. Well Randy was too busy slobbering all over some bitch at the club last night to notice me. But whatever, asshole said he wanted a chance, I gave it, and anyways, whatever. Not going there with him.” She rolls her eyes. “I know, why do you think I went home with someone instead of to my place? Seriously, I knew the jerk would show up.”

My front door opens, interrupting my serious eavesdropping on whatever drama is going on with this chick.

“Hey, man,” I say to him when I walk to see who came in.

“Gotta ask you something, and before you say no, you gotta hear me out,” Keller declares.

“Are you fucking serious?” the chick from last night growls coming into the hallway. “Keller, wow, great. The man I banged and the man I hate together at once. Yay me.”

“Chelsea, uh, what are you doing here?” Keller asks her, sounding nervous. I’m wondering if maybe he fucked her over at some point.

“Waiting for Cori to pick me up. Duh,” she snaps at him with more attitude.

Keller’s head hangs low. “How’s uh, how’re you doing?”

“I’m doing fabulous of course, how’s your baby mama.” She snaps at him. Right, now I remember who this is, I never met her before because she was living in Edmonton and she never came down this way for his games. Chelsea dumped his ass about eight months ago for good after finding out that Keller was a cheating scumbag and had knocked up one of his puck bunnies.

  “You’re Chelsea?” I ask.

“Do you need your ears cleaned out?” She asks, shooting me a dirty look.

This is just too good. Wow. I fuck his girlfriend before him—hell, I was her first fuck—and now I just realized I bagged his ex-girlfriend too. Fuck my life.

Honking interrupts the awkwardness and Chelsea jumps. “Oh, thank god, that twit said another half hour. What a liar. Any who, later, or not. I don’t do repeats. And Keller, I really hope your dick falls off. Toodles,” she says and saunters out.

“God, I hate that I hurt her, Cori and Melissa have both nagged Chelsea for years to just be done with me, and now that she is, she treats me like I'm fuckin’ scum,” he says quietly, watching her drive off with a sad look on his face.

“Maybe you should take the Chelsea mess and learn from it huh? What do you think will happen once Tara finds out about your shit?” I ask, raising my brows.

“Whatever man. I won’t give up Grade A prime pussy.” I knew I shouldn’t have said shit. He may have felt bad just now for shit with Chelsea, but he goes right back into dick mode. “Wait, Chelsea was here, did you fuck her?” he shouts at me.

“Yeah, I did,” I shrug, “Not like you ever introduced us when you were dating her. Hell, I didn’t know her name until you said it when you came in. Can’t exactly be pissed at me about that shit.”

His shoulders sag and he looks defeated as he rubs a hand over his face. “Yeah, whatever.”

“Well, what did you want to ask?” I ask him, wanting to move off the topic of Chelsea.

“Oh yeah. Okay, Tara is being evicted, the place she’s at is selling so she’s needing a new place.”

I frown. “Uh okay, what does that have to do with me?”

He shakes his head. “I asked her to move in with me, she said no. I don’t get these bitches. Don’t most girls want to move in with a guy?”

“Okay really, what’s the point of this shit, man?”

“Can she move in here? Have her own room? Pay rent? She won’t actually move in with me, but when I mentioned she’d have her own room and a roommate living type thing, she relented a bit.”

  I bust out laughing. “No.”

“Man, seriously, I know you won’t charge her out the ass, it’s a good neighborhood and she’s close to work,” he says, pleading with me.

If he knew that I had hooked up with Tara before he did, he sure as fuck wouldn’t be asking this of me.

“Come on man, you have two extra bedrooms, it’d be a little extra cash for you, and she’s a great cook,” he tells me, knowing that food is something that usually gets me to say yes.

“Yeah, but we’d also probably kill each other within the first week. Plus, won’t that sort of, I don’t know, put a damper on your other women,” I point out.

He rolls his eyes. “You know I don’t bring those bitches back here.”

“When do you need an answer by?” I say, giving in.

“ASAP, she’s got until the end of the month, which means she needs to start looking right now.”

Why the hell not. “Fine. Three hundred a month, everything included, but she cooks every night.” I know I’m going to live to regret this. Keller pays for all the food in the place, so having a cook, since we’re both shit at that, would be awesome.

“Thanks man, I knew I could count on you,” he says with a grin. “Later, gotta get back to her, let her know.”

I shake my head when he leaves. Why the fuck did I agree to this. I already have to see her every damn day at work. Now I’m going to be hearing her familiar moans of passion. I’m a fucking moron.

  Chapter 5

  Tara

I’m about to wash my dishes from breakfast when Kell
er burst I through my front door. “Hey?”

“Good news,” he tells me, smiling. “Drew said yes. Three hundred a month, you are in charge of groceries and cooking. Hell, since you guys work together, maybe you could even save on gas and ride with him.”

I shake my head. What the hell is Drew thinking? I was positive he’d say no, but now I have to actually do it. “It all sounds great, but no, no carpooling. That may be my only time away from that jerk.” We already fight constantly at work over every little thing. Half the precinct actually takes bets every day to see what we’ll argue over that day.

“Whatever,” Keller mutters. “The point is, you can pack up and leave this dump now. Come on, I’ll help.”

I start rubbing my temples, hoping the stress of Keller’s words doesn’t cause a migraine. “Keller, look, I still have a few weeks left here, no point in me moving now.” I really don’t even want to move in with Keller or Drew. And when he came back to let me know, I was gonna turn him down. But when I heard the price and cooking. Bam, sold. Yes please. I couldn’t get that anywhere, ever. Keller is away a lot with his team, and I know I can easily avoid Drew by just going to my room.

He sighs heavily and grabs my wrists, bringing me in close to him. “Babe, you already paid rent here for this month. I’ll take care of shit with Drew for this month. Please,” he pouts, staring into my eyes, his brown eyes begging mine.

I close my eyes and draw in a deep breath. “Fine, but you are in charge of heavy lifting.” I relent.

“Woo!” Keller shouts, picking me up and spinning me around. “This is like step one, Tara. Roommates, but I’m sure we’ll be in each other’s rooms every night anyways, and then we can eventually just flat out move in with each other!”
